What’s inside

Repeat what matters. Respond to what you hear. Review what works.

Most culture programmes try to change everything at once. This playbook does the opposite: one team, one behaviour, one pilot. Start with a live problem your team can actually influence, design one small ritual around it, test it in real conditions, and expand only when the evidence justifies it.

Leaderonomics and its culture partner Büdaya are sharing this culture IP free, so any leader or team can start the work. Adapt every tool to your context — and credit Büdaya and Roshan Thiran when you share it.

The six-stage operating cycle

Each stage ends with a decision and something tangible in your hands.

  1. Diagnose — What should change, and what sustains it today? You leave with a one-page behaviour brief.
  2. Design — What repeated practice could help? You leave with a completed ritual canvas.
  3. Prepare — Who can make it credible and easy? You leave with owners, authority and a pilot charter.
  4. Pilot — Does it work in real conditions? You leave with repetitions and a small action log.
  5. Review — Keep, adapt, pause or stop? You leave with evidence and an explicit decision.
  6. Sustain — What stays constant as it spreads? You leave with a living ritual register and a review rhythm.

What's inside

  • Six ready-to-use worksheets: the behaviour brief, the two-part ritual canvas, the pilot charter, the follow-through log, the living ritual register and the Ritual Keeper's weekly check.
  • A diagnostic for the real barrier — capability, opportunity, motivation or reinforcement — so you match the ritual to the problem instead of adding another reminder.
  • A fully worked example: Early Signal, an eight-minute ritual for raising delivery risks before deadlines slip, including the leader's response script and a busy-week minimum version.
  • Four rehearsal tests — newcomer, pressure, power and consequence — to stress-test any design before launch.
  • A 30-day pilot plan, a ready-to-adapt launch message and five clear roles, so nobody has to police the culture.
  • Five signals that tell you whether it's working — reliability, behaviour, response, work outcome and burden — plus a keep/adapt/pause/stop decision guide and a troubleshooting table.
  • Guardrails for dignity and trust, and guidance on adapting rituals for frontline, hybrid, multi-time-zone and multilingual teams.
  • A starter ritual library — Early Signal, Contribution Story, Ten-minute Debrief and The Clasp — plus four restorative rituals: the Morning Anchor, the Story Feast, the Pace Check and the Threshold Wash.
  • A 90-day roadmap from one pilot to a practice worth repeating, with sources and their limitations clearly stated.
