Friday Two-Question Pulse

Every Friday, ask the team two questions — how was your week, and what would make next week better — then act on something by Monday.

Why it matters

Annual surveys capture memory, not experience. Two quick questions asked weekly reveal what’s actually happening while there’s still time to fix it, and acting quickly shows people their voice counts.

How to run it

  1. Friday afternoon, send two questions: “How was your week, 1 to 5?” and “What’s one thing that would make next week better?”
  2. Read every answer by Monday.
  3. Act on one thing and tell the team what you changed.
  4. Watch the trend, not single scores.

Watch out for

  • Asking and never responding — people stop answering within weeks

The “CC everyone” epidemic

Copying the boss “just in case” looks like transparency. It’s really a symptom of fear — and leaders can cure it one reply at a time.
